One-Ingredient Banana Ice Cream

1-ingredient Banana Ice Cream

Chelsea Colbath
Soft, creamy, fluffy ice cream made with just frozen bananas!

Ingredients

  • Frozen Bananas 1-2 per person*
  • Optional: a splash of vanilla extract and a tiny pinch of salt. Other add-ins like a spoonful of peanut butter cocoa powder, matcha or espresso powder, or frozen berries.

Instructions

  • 1. Slice frozen bananas into 1-inch pieces, and put into the bowl of a food processor or high-speed blender. Blend until thick and creamy, about 3-4 minutes, scraping down the bowl once or twice to fully combine. If absolutely necessary, you can add a tiny splash of almond milk to help it blend up, if your machine is struggling. The texture is best, though, with no added liquid.
  • 2. Add in any optional ingredients, blend again just to combine, and serve immediately.

Notes

*Make sure you are using very ripe bananas. I usually wait for them to get spotty before peeling and freezing whole in freezer bags. Adjust the quantity of bananas to make more ice cream.
